JEFFERSON COUNTY — An arrest was made on Friday, Dec. 16, in connection to a Thanksgiving shooting that occurred in Center Point on Thursday, Nov. 24, around 6:45 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Marvin Arnold has been charged with reckless manslaughter and certain persons forbidden to carry a firearm in connection to the shooting death of 23-year-old Theodore Hill.
“Shots were fired from a vehicle that was passing the 5th Street Northwest home where Arnold and Hill were celebrating Thanksgiving,” Lieutenant Joni Money stated. “The victim and Arnold had gone outside of the home to return fire at the passing vehicle. The victim was inadvertently killed by bullets Arnold fired.”

Arnold is being held on a $75,000 bond.
“The circumstances surrounding this situation are incredibly upsetting,” Money stated. “There are now two lives and two families who will never be the same. One life was lost, and the other will be forever changed by the loss of a friend and possible incarceration.”
Money stated that this is further evidence that only responsible, safety-conscious individuals should possess firearms.
“One must consider that once the bullet leaves a weapon, it cannot be recalled,” Money stated. “There are no do-overs, no fresh set of lives. This is not a video game. It is real life, and mishandling a firearm can take or change the lives of anyone in the path of that bullet.”
