IRONDALE — Mayor James D. Stewart Jr. will host a music festival celebrating the city of Irondale’s 135th birthday this Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022. The music festival will take place at Beacon Park, with gates opening at 2 p.m. and the show beginning at 4 p.m.
Featured acts include Taylor Hicks, Pastor Mike McClure Jr., Kim Scott, Eric Essix, and more. Over 1,500 free tickets have been distributed to members of the community.
“We are excited to welcome internationally recognized, but still homegrown, musical artists to the city of Irondale as we celebrate our community and bring neighbors together for a day of fellowship,” Stewart said.
Anyone planning to attend must pick up a wrist band from city hall in advance, or request a wrist band to be held at Will Call. No guests will be
admitted without a wristband and tickets will not be sold at the gate.
Seating is first-come, first-serve, but attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Tents are not allowed.
Additionally, outside food is not allowed, but the following food trucks will be on-site: CoCo Crabs, Eugene’s Chicken, Cheezin, Ruscelli’s, Dirty Red, Big Daddy’s BBQ and Jolly Cakes. Water and soft Drinks will be sold by the
Shades Valley High School football team.
Beacon Park is located at 5309 Beacon Drive, Irondale, AL 35210. There will be no parking available at Beacon Park. Attendees are asked to park at Grants Mill Station, where shuttle services will begin at 1:45 p.m.
Overflow Parking will be at Classic Car Motoring after the lot at Grants Mill Station is marked as full. Irondale Police will be directing traffic and parking.
Additional information:
- Small coolers are allowed but must be no larger than 24″x18″
- Clear bags and small clutch-style purses are permitted. Clear tote bags must be no larger than a gallon-size Ziploc bag
- Pre-ordered shirts may be picked up at Irondale City Hall during wristband pick-up times. Shirts will be available for $15 each at the festival as well. View shirt designs at www.lrondaleCommunityFoundation.com.
