ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Sylvania man was arrested in Pell City for the hit-and-run that killed a Crossville 14-year-old boy on Saturday, April 2, at approximately 10:20 p.m.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 22-year-old Tyler Blaise Wilbanks was arrested and charged with manslaughter and a felony leaving the scene of an accident (LSA).

The 14-year-old was fatally injured when the 2003 Honda CH-80 motorcycle they were operating was struck from behind by Wilbanks, who was driving a 2016 Chevy Equinox.
The teen was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Alabama 75 near the 68-mile marker, approximately three miles south of Geraldine.
The Dekalb County DA’s Office, Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Rainsville Police Department, Albertville Police Department, Fort Payne Police Department, Geraldine Police Department, and the Center for Applied Forensics assisted in the arrest.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
