MONTGOMERY — The Pinson Valley boys basketball team remains the No. 4 team in 6A in the latest Alabama Sports Writers rankings.

The Indians are on a four-game winning streak and securing a 6A Area 12 regular-season title by defeating Mortimer Jordan, Clay-Chalkville and Gardendale down the stretch to go undefeated in region play. Pinson Valley wraps up its regular season on Friday, at home against Parker at 7 p.m.
Leeds moved up two spots in the rankings for 5A this week, coming in at No. 8. The Green Wave is a winner of six in a row, with a chance at a share of the 5A Area 10 regular season title if they can beat No. 4 Ramsay this Friday night at Ramsay.
Leeds nearly pulled off the upset earlier this season, dropping a 57-51 decision to the Rams on December 3, 2021.
Springville dropped out of the ‘others nominated’ category after a heartbreaking 61-59 loss to Hartselle on January 21.
