BIRMINGHAM — A South Carolina man was found dead in a vehicle in Birmingham on Friday, December 24, at approximately 11:55 a.m.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), Jesse James Valone, 29, of Greenville, South Carolina, was located unresponsive in a silver Dodge pickup by West Precinct officers in the 2800 block of 30th Street Southwest after they responded to a suspicious vehicle.
“Upon further investigation, officers observed a male who was unresponsive in the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.”
Currently, there is no suspect(s) in custody.
This is Birmingham’s 114th murder investigation of 2021, with 14 justifiable death investigations.
