TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville grad and former University of Alabama lineman Pierce Quick has transferred to Georgia Tech, the player announced on Twitter.
Quick announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on November 28, though rumors had begun to leak out the day before the decision was made public.
A player who enters the transfer portal does not necessarily have to leave the team for which they play; athletes can withdraw from the transfer portal at any time.
Quick, a Hewitt-Trussville grad, was a sophomore for Alabama who saw playing time in eight games.
He is the second high-profile player from the area to choose Georgia Tech. Pinson Valley quarterback Zach Pyron officially signed his letter of intent to play for the Yellow Jackets on Early Signing Day, Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
A 6-5, 305-pound force on the offensive line for Hewitt-Trussville, Quick was the No. 40 recruit overall in the nation as a senior in 2019 and the No. 7-ranked offensive lineman.
