TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville boys and girls teams earned victories on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
For the boys, the Huskies pulled it out in overtime against Dothan, 70-66, with Tyler Blake pouring in 19 points and Ray Rolley adding 16.
The boys play next on Nov. 30 at Oak Mountain at 7 p.m.
In the girls’ game, the Huskies allowed just nine second half points on Saturday as they pulled away from Dothan for a 61-27 win. The Huskies led by just three points at halftime, but outscored the Wolves 14-3 in the 3rd quarter.
D’yona Jones made eight baskets on the night on her way to a game-high 17 points. Jordan Hunter finished with 14 points, including 11 points in the second half. Audre Benson scored nine points and Abbie Kate Monski added seven.
The Huskies (4-2 overall) will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Wenonah.

The Green Wave won their home opener by 24 points, with 14 players scoring points. Senior Jamal Jordan led Leeds with 16 points.
Leeds is 2-0 on the season, having beaten Holy Family Catholic on Tuesday, November 16, and won by 51 points, 73-22.
Leeds 49, St. Clair County 42 (Girls)
Zoie Galloway had 22 points to lead all scorers while Katelyn Sims added 16 and the Green Wave put away St. Clair County on Friday, November 19. The girls are 3-0 on the season after defeating Lincoln 43-28 the day before, and kicking off the season with a 54-5 victory.
Clay-Chalkville 30, Helena 19 (Girls)
Brooklyn Phillips scored 12, while Kamoria Gaines had 8. Kameron Sanders added 5, and the Lady Cougars are now 3-1 on the season. Earlier in the week, they took on Fultondale and won 53-31. Three players scored in double digits for that one, as Phillips scored 19 in that one, with Gaines adding 11 and Sanders put up 10.
