ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Alabama State Troopers took a Hoover man into custody in St. Clair County after he refused to stop and crashed a vehicle, according the the Alabama Law enforcement Agency.
“Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division were involved in a vehicle pursuit that began at approximately 10:38 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, in St. Clair County,” Senior Trooper Greg Corble said. “Troopers attempted to stop a 2020 Chevy Camaro at approximately mile marker 156 on the eastbound side of Interstate 20.”
“The driver, Iva Williams, 21, of Hoover, refused to stop and continued traveling east on I-20. He then took Exit 162, crossed U.S. 78 and lost control of the vehicle, striking a ditch.”
Williams was taken into custody without incident and transported to St. Clair County Jail, according to Corble. No further information is available as Troopers continue to investigate.
