CENTER POINT — A new health care facility in Center Point is working to reduce hospitalizations and provide quality care and quality of life to seniors.
Oak Street Health has experienced primary care doctors who specialize in caring for adults on Medicare, according to its website. Oak Street Health also offers tailored care plans and a community center in-house for events. You do not have to be a patient to participate in community events.
Herbert Williams, Director of Outreach for Oak Street Health, said the state-of-the-art clinic is more than a health care facility.
“The quality health care that we provide our seniors is a robust model,” said Williams. “It’s wellness care and not sick care. Our main goal is to rebuild health care as it should be, keeping people happy healthy and out of the hospital. We have reduced hospitalization admissions over 57% now.”
Oak Street Health is located at 1687 Center Point Parkway, in the space of the former Family Dollar. The clinic also offers transportation for those who qualify.
The Center Point location of Oak Street Health is the only one in the north Alabama market. There is only one other in the state and it is located in Mobile.
