MOODY — In 2020, 264 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty. A motorcycle ride across the country is making its way to Alabama to honor local heroes.
Beyond the Call of Duty’s “End of Watch Ride to Remember” will be in Moody on Friday, July 16, 2021.
The ride began in Washington on May 28. It will end in Spokane Valley, Washington, on Aug. 18.
The name of the ride is inspired by an officer’s “End of Watch” which is announced over the radio by a dispatcher following the death of an officer. The ceremonial last radio call is followed by a moment of silence.
The ride will be at the Moody Police Department from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. to honor Lt. Stephen Williams. Williams’ end of watch was June 2, 2020.
The ride will then travel to the Birmingham Police Department, followed by the Kimberly Police Department. View the schedule by clicking here.
