CHILTON COUNTY — A car crash took the life of a 36-year-old woman Wednesday.
Police say Ashley L. Martin, of Thorsby, was killed when the 2007 Lexus IS she was driving was struck by a 2007 Toyota Tundra on Interstate 65 North, approximately 12 miles north of Jemison. The collision took place at around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the Toyota was driven by 62-year-old Floyd Steven Penley, of Clanton. No information has been given on his condition.
Martin was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the crash.
