WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump has filed a class-action lawsuit against tech giants Facebook, Twitter and Alphabet.

In a news conference from Bedminster, N.J. on Wednesday, Trump said his class-action lawsuit filed in South Florida targets CEOs Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Jack Dorsey of Twitter, and Sundar Pichai of Google and Alphabet.
“We are going to hold big tech very accountable,” Trump said.
Trump accused those companies of violating First Amendment free speech rights through censorship against him and others. “If they can do it to me, they can do it to anyone,” he continued.
Facebook, a privately owned company, suspended Trump for two years, due to severe violation following Capitol riots. The First Amendment, however, applies to government entities, not private domains.
The suits against all three tech companies ask the court to award unspecified damages, declare Section 230 unconstitutional and restore Trump’s accounts.
Under Section 230, social media platforms are allowed to moderate their services by removing posts that are obscene or violate the services’ own standards, so long as they are acting in “good faith.”
