PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — The body of a six-year-old child washed up on a beach near Panama City Beach, Florida on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
The body of Enrique Cortez-Dubon was found around 4 p.m. on the beach at Surf Drive in unincorporated Bay County.
Panama City Police said it appears the boy drowned.
Police and other rescue agencies conducted a massive search after the boy was reported missing Monday. Drones and helicopters were deployed during the search in the area Cortez-Dubon was last seen. That area was between Majestic Beach Resort and the Boardwalk Beach Resort, near Pineapple Willy’s.
The boy, who went by the nickname Richalo, was not wearing floaties. He was in knee-high water, according to police. The boy and his family are from the Atlanta area.
