TRUSSVILLE — The 2nd Annual Leland Dockery Tribute Cruise-In will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at First Baptist Church Trussville.
Longtime member of FBCT, Leland Dockery, passed away on March 27, 2019, at the age of 68, leaving behind a life filled with family, friends, community and country. Husband to wife Denise, father of two, grandfather of four, he was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, retired as owner of Dockery Electric, and served as chairman of the Trussville Utilities board.
Dockery enjoyed spending time at the family’s lake house and making local breakfast rounds with the guys. All his life he had a thing for cars. Leland loved his cars and had been tinkering with hot rods since he was in high school. He personally restored over 30 cars.
The Seasoned Adult Ministry at FBCT talked to him about having an auto show and he thought it was a great idea. They never imagined they would we would be having one without him so they are honoring him through it. They anticipate over 150 show-quality vehicles on the campus of First Baptist.

Onsite vehicle registration begins at 8:30 a.m. the day of the show.
Classifications are favorite truck, favorite car, overall favorite vehicle, and a Mayor’s choice will be chosen. Registration and admission to the event are free!
A variety of music from 50s Carhop to Bluegrass to Contemporary and Mainstream Christian Music will be played at the event. They will several food trucks plus a live DJ and a host of door prizes donated by area merchants to be given out throughout the day. Two of Dockery’s cars will also be on display at the cruise-in.
