LEEDS — Everybody loves a buzzer-beater.
That’s exactly what the Leeds Green Wave boys basketball team needed on Monday night with Carver-Birmingham in town. First-year head coach Jeremiah Millington’s squad was on the wrong side of a 1-point game as the final few seconds rolled down.
He put the ball in the hands of senior guard Chris Davidson, who set his feet slightly south of the green logo at center court and bottomed a game-winner at the horn, giving Leeds a 64-62 home win over the visiting Rams.
The bench cleared as Davidson’s teammates swarmed him in excitement.
The Green Wave is scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday night at Vincent.
