VESTAVIA — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating a trail-riding accident that claimed the life of a 16-year-old.
The teen was a passenger in a vehicle that flipped in a wooded area off Old Overton Road, near Vestavia. The teen was thrown from the vehicle as it flipped over, according to the sheriff’s office. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Two other teens were in the vehicle and were not hurt.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020.
