AUBURN – The votes are in.
Noah Igbinoghene—a former all-state performer at Hewitt-Trussville and first-round NFL draft pick to the Miami Dolphins—has landed some special recognition. Auburn fans, in a poll that opened up on June 15, voted Igbinoghene onto the Auburn football “Team of the Decade” for the 2010’s.
The all-decade defense was announced by Auburn football’s twitter account on Tuesday afternoon, revealing a unit consisting of four defensive linemen, three linebackers and five defensive backs.
Igbinoghene, who signed with the Tigers as a receiver in 2017, transitioned to the secondary as a sophomore, and the move paid dividends. He finished his Auburn career with 92 tackles, 19 passes defended and one interception in 40 games.
After a junior season that resulted in seven pass breakups and 42 tackles, Igbinoghene decided to forgo his senior year for the NFL.
He turned heads at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine, clocking a 4.48 40-yard dash.
That performance was enough to win over the Miami Dolphins, who claimed him with the 30th pick in Round 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft on April 24.
Igbinoghene, Carlton Davis and Chris Davis survived the vote against fellow cornerbacks Javaris Davis, Jamel Dean, Joshua Holsey, Jonathan Jones, Jonathon Mincy, Neiko Thorpe and Ryan White.
