TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Schools Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill will remain with the school system until July 30, 2024, after the Board of Education voted to extend Neill’s contract for two years. The contract was originally set to expire in 2022.
Board President Kathy Brown said she is thankful for Neill’s leadership.
“I’m pleased that Dr. Neill will continue her work in Trussville as we continue to grow in many positive directions under her leadership,” said Brown. “The contract extension will allow Dr. Neill to continue to build on the excellence of Trussville City Schools.”
Neill identified four immediate goals for the school system:
- Updating strategic and capital plans
- Cognia re-accreditation and STEM accreditation
- Strategies related to promoting race-relations and equity, based on racial injustices
- Reopening schools following the coronavirus pandemic
According to the school system, no changes were made to the contract, other than the time of expiration.
