HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville Police Department used crowd control and riot control techniques in the downtown part of the city after protesters refused to leave.
According to WHNT, the NAACP hosted a rally on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, near the courthouse. An hour after the NAACP’s permit expired, some protesters continued to rally. That’s when police moved in with tear gas, audio dispersion, and rubber bullets, WHNT reported.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to provide aid to the Huntsville Police Department.
The protest was part of a nationwide push against police brutality following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.
