CLAY — A local couple didn’t let a pandemic get in the way of their nuptials.
Katey Hartfield and Jacob Blankenship were originally planning to get married on Saturday, March 21, but because of the coronavirus, they changed their plans.
On Thursday, March 19, the two became one at Mountain View Baptist Church, in Grayson Valley. The private ceremony consisted of those closest to the couple, but they were sure to keep a distance of at least 6 feet, to ensure social distancing.
Wedding director Cheryl Mathews gave the happy couple T-shirts that read, “We got married and survived the COVID-19.”
The couple plans to have a reception with family and guests once the ban on large gatherings is lifted.
