SPRINGVILLE — Multiple agencies are investigating after several drivers reported their vehicles being shot at late Thursday, Feb. 13, and overnight.
Springville Police Chief Belinda Crapet said investigators have no evidence confirming what exactly hit vehicles.
“We don’t know if it was a thrown object or if it was something shot from a weapon,” said Crapet.
Other agencies believe the object could have been pellets from an air gun.
Springville had three calls from people reporting their vehicle was shot at. Crapet said two cars had damage to the driver’s side windows.
Springville Mayor William Isley said there is no description of the vehicle, but they do believe the projectile is coming from a moving vehicle. He said there were also reports in Argo, Springville, Gadsden, and down Highway 11.
Argo Mayor Betty Bradley said there was also a report from near Mathews Manor.
“It’s just ridiculous that someone would try to put someone else’s life in danger by doing stupid stuff like that,” said Bradley.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office also had one report of a window damaged on a car driving north on Highway 11. There was no suspect description given.
Trussville Police did not get any reports.
