From the Trussville Tribune Staff Reports
BIRMINGHAM — Alabama Governor Kay Ivey joined Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama on Friday in offering a $5,000 reward for information regarding the disappearance of a Trussville woman from Tin Roof in Birmingham on Dec. 20.
The rewards now total $10,000 for any information on the whereabouts of 29-year-old Paighton Lane Houston.
“Unfortunately, another female is missing in the state of Alabama,” Ivey said. “The whereabouts of Paighton Laine Houston have been unknown since Friday, December 20. In the midst of the busy holiday season, it is critical that we support Paighton, her family and law enforcement to ensure we do everything possible to bring her home. I am issuing a $5,000 reward to help encourage anyone with credible information to contact the appropriate authorities and help make that happen.”
Houston, who was last seen around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at Tin Roof with two heavy-set black males, has vanished with few leads to discern where she went or what happened to her.
What is known is that Houston allegedly left the bar willingly with the two unknown black males. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage of the bar, which detectives have yet to release to the public as they review the material.
Several hours later, at around midnight, Houston texted a friend saying that she did not know who she was with and that she might be in trouble.
That was the last time anybody has heard from Houston.
Since her disappearance, Houston has not withdrawn any money from her bank account and her phone is going directly to voice mail.
Trussville Mayor Buddy Choat said yellow “Bows of Hope” have been put in place at Trussville City Hall to remind everyone to pray for Houston’s safe return.
If there is anyone who has information pertaining to the whereabouts of Houston, please contact the Birmingham Police Department at 205-297–8413 or 911. If you have additional information on this investigation, contact Crime Stoppers (205) 254-7777.
