From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is investigating after a car was stolen from a home sometime overnight between Monday, Dec. 9 and Tuesday, Dec. 10.
The victim, who lives on Camp Coleman Road, said the black 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade was parked in her driveway. The SUV was locked and her purse was inside.
Officers said someone broke the window of the Jeep to get inside and took off with the SUV after they found a spare key in the vehicle.
The woman’s purse, with credit and debit cards inside, was also taken.
No arrests have been made, but Police Chief Eric Rush said the incident is another example of why residents should never leave valuables inside a vehicle.
“Do not leave your valuables or weapons in your car,” said Rush. “Whether you lock it or not, always take anything of value with you.”
If you have any information on the stolen vehicle, call the Trussville Police Department.
