OAK MOUNTAIN — The Hewitt-Trussville girls’ basketball team remains undefeated following Friday night’s 83-24 victory over Oak Mountain.
Led by Amya Payne’s game-high 25 points, the Huskies poured in 53 first half points against the two-win Eagles. All of Payne’s points came in the first three quarters. The Huskies hit eight 3-pointers in the first half alone.
Jordan Hunter, an eighth grader, scored 17 points in the win, and April Hooks and Leah Harrison added 10 points each.
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Blow Past Oak Mountain
The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ basketball team shook off its first loss of the season with a 77-62 victory over Oak Mountain on Friday to move to 4-1 on the season.
Oak Mountain remains winless on the season following the loss.
The Huskies’ Carter Hollis scored a team-high 15 points in the win. Cameron Glover recorded 14 points, Jacolby Thomas added 11 points, J’Vahn Durdan hits three 3-pointers and finished the night with 11 points, and Tyler Pickett scored 13 points.
