OAKVILLE — The Springville boys’ cross country team partook in the 2019 AHSAA cross country championship this Friday fresh off a second-place finish at the Class 5A, Section 2 meet. In Oakville, Alabama, on Saturday, the Springville boys concluded its season with an eighth-place finish in the championship meet.
The boys were paced by Caleb Kimmons, who finished 31st with a time of 17:34.17. Jake Harned rounded out the top 50 with a 41st place finish. Southside-Gadsden, Briarwood Christian, Randolph and champion Scottsboro rounded out the top four.
The Springville girls’ team was led by the third-place finish of Beth Ann Tucker, who finished with a time 19:22.88. Overall, the girls’ team finished in 10th place. Faith Academy, Briarwood Christian, Lawrence County and champion Scottsboro rounded out the top four.
