Deborah Mims Talley went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019. She was born Oct. 1, 1951, in Birmingham to Gayle and the late James M. Mims. Debbie found joy in leading others and had a passion for reading.
She enjoyed music, playing bingo and regular card games with her friends. She often talked about her family and especially her grandkids. She had a successful career at Motion Industries spanning over two decades and delighted in peaceful time on her farm in Springville.
Debbie is survived by her mother, Gayle Mims, sister, Donna (Dick) Gardner, children, Connie (Rodney) Richardson, Jay (Renae) McCullough, step children, Bruce Talley III and Brandy (Richard) Talley Price, grandchildren, Katelynn (Landon) Davis, Savannah Richardson, Nick Richardson, Austin McCullough, Anna Grace McCullough, Logan Price, Luke Price, Tanner Talley, great grandchildren, Blair Davis, Hayes Davis, nephews, Will (Mary) Gardner, Jamie Gardner and John David (Mal) Gardner. She was preceded in death by her father, James M. Mims, and husband, Buddy Talley.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25, at noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Gadsden Highway in Trussville. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
