LAMAR COUNTY — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified five people involved in a fatal crash on Friday, Aug. 30, in Lamar County.
Investigators said that around 8:07 p.m., the 2004 Jeep Wrangler the five were in left the roadway on Wofford Road and hit a utility pole.
Tallon Lee Burleson, 19, of Winfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Steven James King, 19, of Vernon, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he later died.
The other three occupants were transported from the scene for treatment. Colton Earl Scott, 19, of Winfield, was treated and released. Tyler Lane Harlan Upton, 20, of Winfield, and Markus Alan Edington, 25, of Vernon, remain hospitalized.
ALEA Troopers are investigating.
