Stanton Dennis Lofton, Jr., age 96, passed away on Aug. 9, 2019 in Pell City.
Lofton was born on Aug. 2, 1923 in Franklin County, MS. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy in the South Pacific. He was a faithful member of the Grace Community Church at Deerfoot. His hobbies included painting, gardening and refurbishing antiques.
On March 30, 1962, he married Amy Horton in Birmingham. She survives, along with a stepdaughter, Donna Arnett (Chris) of Daphne, AL; a stepson, Steven Randall Turner (Daniel Cooreman) of New York City; three grandchildren, Keith Nolin of Saraland, AL, Kristi Wright of Knoxville, TN and Kasey Fort of Mobile, AL; eight great grandchildren, Victoria, Hannah, Mikela, Elizabeth and John Wright of Knoxville, Dylan and Madison Casstevens of Spanish Fort, AL and Saila Fort of Mobile; two sisters, Eunice Case of Pell City and Mary Stubbs of McComb, MS; one brother, Albert Lofton of Nauvoo; numerous nieces and nephews; and amazing friends including Lloyd Lett, Norm Lee and Dennis and Chris Turner.
Mr. Lofton was preceded in death by his parents, Stanton Lofton, Sr. and Exer Love Floyd of Brookhaven, MS and a brother, Robert C. Tinsley.
The family wishes to thank the doctors of Northside Medical in Pell City, the nurses and the staff of St. Vincent’s St. Clair Hospital and Lakeside Hospice for their wonderful care and attention.
