JULY 18 UPDATE: Man charged with 4 counts of manslaughter for wrong-way crash
Walker County — Four people from Little Rock, Arkansas, were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 22 on Thursday, July 11, 2019. The crash was about one mile south of Jasper.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said at 1:50 a.m., a driver of a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling west in the eastbound lane. The truck hit a Nissan Altima.
The four people in the Altima were identified as Monica Daniele Jackson, 49, Tamblyn J. Jackson, 50, Kheri Thomas Ayers, 29, and Daniel Izell Johnson, 42.
Michael Troy Majors, 25, of Bessemer, was the driver of the truck. Majors was hurt and was taken to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper for treatment.
