ATHENS, Ala. (AP) — Five Alabama inmates are facing charges stemming from the discovery of methamphetamine in a county jail.
The News Courier reported Friday that women in the group at the Limestone County Jail were charged with either possessing methamphetamine or conspiring to commit an unlawful act involving contraband.
The Limestone County Sheriff said a large bag of meth was discovered inside one of the women’s jail cell and other bags containing meth residue were found in common areas of the jail in February.
Following a monthslong investigation, the women were formally indicted by a county grand jury.
