CENTER POINT — The chief of the Center Point Fire District recently graduated from Alabama Fire College’s Alabama Public Safety Leadership Academy.
Chief Gene Coleman said networking with other public safety officials was an invaluable opportunity.
“It provided the opportunity that if you have a question on something, you have someone to reach out to,” said Coleman. “They have experienced what you need answers on, so it is good to have those contacts.”
The mission of the Leadership Academy is to broaden and enhance the management and leadership skills, according to the fire college’s website.
“We also had financial planning, ethics, human resources and disaster response,” said Coleman. “Those are all common issues in the Center Point Fire District and across all of Alabama.”
As always, Chief Coleman has one message for everyone:
“Keep a beep where you sleep, close the door where you snore.”
