BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department said a person was shot to death in Ensley on Friday, May 31, 2019.
Shot Spotter alerted officers to the 3100 block of Ensley Avenue, to a Citgo gas station. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a victim in the parking lot. They said the person was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
The victim was not publicly identified.
One person of interest was taken in for questioning.
