JEFFERSON COUNTY — A person was shot at Jefferson State Community College according to Jefferson State police.
The incident occurred Wednesday morning on the campus of the community college, reported WIAT.
Police said an angry man arrived on campus and was responded to by a Jeff State police officer. The man produced a machete, at which point the officer shot at the suspect.
The individual was taken to a local hospital for treatment, said WIAT.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
