BIRMINGHAM — Authorities have identified a homicide victim from an incident that took place on Sunday, May 5.
Birmingham Police have identified the victim as Waymon Fowler, 54, of Birmingham.

Police said officers from the West Precinct were dispatched to the 1100 Block of Detroit Street on a call of person down. Upon arrival, officers found the victim unresponsive lying in a grassy area suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue reported to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased as a result of his injuries.
No suspects are in custody. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
