From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — LifeWay Christian Stores across the nation are closing as part of a new marketing strategy, according to LifeWay Christian Resources.
The company is transitioning to an online-exclusive business plan. The decision was made after LifeWay showed strong growth of digital channels and declining customer traffic at brick-and-mortar stores.
The organization will continue to offer resources through LifeWay.com and the LifeWay Customer Service Center (1-800-458-2772). The company will also continue to work with church partners to serve those customers.
Acting President and CEO Brad Waggoner said the plan for LifeWay is forward-thinking and will benefit customers.
“While we had hoped to keep some stores open, current market projections show this is no longer a viable option,” Waggoner said. “The decision to close our local stores is a difficult one.”
There is no word on when the Trussville location will close, but LifeWay expects all stores to close by the end of the year.
