BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Police responded to a shooting Sunday, around 7 a.m., which left one female dead.
By 8:30 a.m., BPD had the second homicide investigation of the day underway after a man was shot and killed at a location on Montevallo Road.
Officers from the West Precinct responded to 1020 Tuscaloosa Ave. at 6:59 a.m. after receiving a report of a person shot, BPD Officer Rodarius Mauldin said.
“Officers arrived and found the victim inside of a vehicle unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound,” Mauldin said. “Birmingham Fire and Rescue along with Jefferson County Coroner reported to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased as a result of her injuries.”
About an hour and a half later, officers from the West Precinct responded to 2110 Montevallo Road SW at 8:36 a.m. on a report of a person shot, Mauldin said.
Officers arrived and found the victim on the ground unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue along with Jefferson County Coroner reported to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased as a result of his injuries.
The names of the victims have not been released and no suspects are in custody at this time.
