From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
BIRMINGHAM — The Lovelady Center, which provides many essentials and services to women and children in need, is requesting donations for children ages nine to 16, according to WBRC.
Lovelady hopes to gift presents to more than 1000 kids this season, however supplies are running low for kids in the older age ranges.
Stephanie Smith, of the Lovelady Center, told WBRC that there are a lot of presents for the younger children, but she wants the older children to have a great Christmas, as well.
“Our older kids are the ones that are kind of hurting the most and that are more emotional and stuff,” Smith said. “Believe it or not, those toys and those presents mean just as much to them as it does to our younger babies.”
Donations can be made through Christmas at the Lovelady Center. The Lovelady Center is located at 7916 Second Avenue South. More information about this program can be found by clicking here.
