From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
ST. CLAIR COUNTY — “Due to the hazardous road conditions, St. Clair County Schools will delay opening by two hours,” according to St. Clair County Schools social media account. “As always, the safety of our students and faculty are our number one priority. Thank you and have a safe day.”
“St. Clair County and Pell City Schools are on a two hour delay due to numerous reports of black ice on our roadways, especially on bridges and overpasses,” according to the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency. “If you have (to) travel, please do so with extreme caution.”
Multiple wrecks have been reported in Jefferson County interstates due to hazardous driving conditions made worse by low visibility due to freezing fog.
There have been reports of icing on bridges throughout the metro area; if you must travel use extreme caution. Conditions will improve this morning; right now freezing fog makes it hard to see icing. @NWSBirmingham
