ARGO – Argo Chief of Police James Downing gave a monthly report to the Argo City Council Monday at the regular council meeting.
For the month of November, the following occurred:
- 16 incident reports
- 20 false alarms
- 13 incidents of domestic violence
- 28 fire department assists
- 39 officer assists
- 29 911 calls
- 162 patrol requests
- 49 response calls on I-59
The council also heard the monthly report from the fire department.
For the month of November, the following occurred:
- 3 structure fires
- 1 brush fire
- 1 motor vehicle fire
- 2 false alarms
- 1 hazmat
- 28 medicals
- 6 burn permits issued
- 13 people transported out of the city
During the food bank report, Jim Link expressed gratitude for many of the donors to the Argo Community Food Bank. Donors included: Crosspoint, Clearbranch Christian Fellowship, Cindy Jones and husband, Margaret Elementary, Walmart, Aldi, Publix and the Presbyterian Church on Deerfoot.
In other city news, Christmas for Kids will be serving 15 kids this year ranging from three years old to 14. The presents will be presented to the children on Saturday, after the Argo Christmas Parade. Those that cannot make it will have their presents delivered to them.
The next Argo City Council meeting will be held on Jan. 14.
