ARGO – A traffic stop Tuesday evening led to the seizure of marijuana, mushrooms and opioids, as well as the arrest of an individual, according to the Argo Police Department.
Authorities are reporting that at 6:11 p.m., police performed a stop of a vehicle for a traffic violation at the intersection of Highway 11 and Argo Margaret Road. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana contained in a plastic sandwich bag, a freezer bag containing mushrooms, and 60 pills that each contained 30 milligrams of morphine sulphate.
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a permit, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana second degree and drug trafficking.
