TRUSSVILLE –The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a freeze warning starting at midnight Wednesday and lasting until 12 p.m. CST on Thursday for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lowndes, Marengo, Marion, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties.
Temperatures will fall into the 20’s in parts in Alabama overnight Wednesday and into Thursday morning and may remain at or around freezing until about noon on Thursday. The high expected in Birmingham on Thursday is 37.
Temperatures below freezing during this time can kill crops and sensitive plants. Pets should be brought indoors until temperatures become more suitable.
