TRUSSVILLE –Reports of power outages in Trussville on Saturday night from Main Street to Chalkville Mountain Road are impacting traffic signals, multiple businesses and homes.
Trussville Fire Chief Tim Shotts said units were on the scene of a transformer fire on Green Drive near Riders Harley Davidson. Shotts said the fire was limited to the transformer and posed no risk to any structures.
The automated reporting system for Alabama Power Company said crews have been dispatched to locate and repair the problem. Power is expected to be restored by 10 p.m. on Saturday. Some areas were already seeing power restored by 9:25 p.m.
Motorists are reminded to treat inoperable traffic signals as a stop sign.
