ALABASTER – According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a driver has been arrested following a hit and run incident that occurred on the side of I-65 on early Monday morning.
Police discovered a deceased male pedestrian on the shoulder of I-65 north of the 238 marker of the Alabaster exit. The victim appeared to have been killed by a car that did not stop while he was crossing the interstate.
Officers from ALEA believed that the car was a white Hyundai Genesis with damage to the right front quarter panel and bumper. The driver was later located and cooperating according to ALEA, which also said that the case will be presented the Shelby County District Attorney when the investigation concludes.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Officers continue to investigate the incident.
