Around 27,800 customers were without power across the state as of 10 p.m. Saturday, according to a Twitter post by Alabama Power.
The post said there are approximately 11,300 customers without power in metro Birmingham, with thousands more customers without service around the state.
“Our crews will be working through the night to restore power as soon as they are able. If you see an outage or lines down, call it in to 800-888-2726,” said another post.

• 7,800 to the west (Tuscaloosa and Walker Counties)
• 6,000 in central Alabama (Montgomery area)
