TRUSSVILLE –With cold Canadian air on the way, protecting pets and plants should be a priority for local residents.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a freeze warning for north central Alabama, including Jefferson and St. Clair counties. The warning began at midnight Saturday and was extended to cover Sunday night as well. Weather is expected to be clear and cold with light, northerly winds.
A freeze watch is in effect from Sunday evening until Monday morning.
Overnight lows could be in the 29 to 32 degree range. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the 50’s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
