BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department responded to reports of a homicide on August 13.
Officers arrived to the 7700 block of 4th Avenue South around 1:06 a.m. to find a male lying across a bed suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. Joshua Lewis, 24, was pronounced dead on the scene. A witness at the scene said the shooting took place inside the apartment.
The suspect left the scene before officers arrived. The incident reportedly stemmed from an ex-boyfriend confronting a woman’s new boyfriend.
The Birmingham Police Department is asking for assistance in finding Quindarius Reed, 24. He is wanted on a capital murder charge for the shooting of Joshua Lewis. Anyone with information should contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 254-1764.
