VESTAVIA HILLS –Vestavia Hills first responders are cleaning up an at least five-vehicle crash on I459 North at Liberty Park and Overton Road.

Al.com reports one car was pushed off the overpass onto overton road, hwere it landed upside down. The driver was extricated and conscious while he was being transported to UAB Hospital.
Witnesses said an 18-wheeler came around the curve and couldn’t stop fast enough to accommodate backup from rush hour, which led it to start hitting cars one by one.
Several motorists were treated at the scene for their injuries.

Yesterday they were doing road work on Overton at the traffic light right after this exit. Even though there was a Sheriff directing traffic, it was backed up on the exit ramp
