BLOUNT COUNTY – A decomposed body was found in a Blount County home on Thursday.
Investigators told al.com they don’t believe foul play was involved. The body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy. At this time, they believe the body may be that of a woman reported missing a week ago.
The body was found around noon in a home off of County Road 45, according to Blount County Sheriff’s Operations Officer Tim Kent. A woman reportedly went by the home and made the discovery.
Al.com reports the home was not abandoned, however, no one had been staying there for about a week. Authorities have tentatively identified the woman, but are withholding the name pending autopsy confirmation.
