JEFFERSON COUNTY – Two arrests have been made for the murder of Dora resident Rodney Canterberry, 42.
Patrick Wayne Logan, 39, and 32-year-old Jana Nicole Friese, both of Mt. Olive, have been arrested and charged with Capital Murder for the June 8 incident.
The investigation led detectives to the house of the two suspects in Mt. Olive, where a handgun was discovered on June 23. That firearm is believed to be the murder weapon.
Both suspect were later questioned by detectives. Friese confessed to the murder of Canterberry while Logan denied any wrongdoing.
According to the investigation, Friese knew the victim, Canterberry, and arranged to meet with him in a field in the 7400 block of Coleman Road near Morris. The male suspect, who is currently Friese’s boyfriend, hid in the woods until Friese and the victim arrived.
At some point after their arrival, Logan approached the two and shot Canterberry twice, killing him. According to the investigation, Logan and Friese had planned to rob the victim and had coordinated the attack.
Both suspects are being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
