Trussville police chief Don Sivley said the Walmart in Trussville was evacuated shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday after an employee found a piece of paper with “bomb” written on it laid on a pallet.
“Our officers and store managers are checking the store,” Sivley said. “We want to make sure everything is safe.”
Sivley said there was nothing else written on the paper.
In addition to the police, Trussville Fire and Rescue personnel are also on the scene.
Walmart employees had been evacuated to the far edge of the parking lot where they were assisting with directing traffic and informing customers of the situation.
An “all clear” was issued at about 11:30 a.m., Sivley said.
